1. Membership Eligibility and Types
1.1 Eligibility
- Membership is open to individuals aged 16 and over.
- Minors (under 16) must have a parent or legal guardian register on their behalf and have acknowledged the parental waiver.
- Members must provide accurate personal and contact information.
1.2 Membership Types
- Pre School Membership: Unlimited access to classes for 4-6 year olds.
- Junior Membership: Unlimited access to classes for 7-13 year olds.
- Adult Membership: Unlimited access to Adult Classes for ages 14+
- Free Trial: One week membership.

3. Membership and Payments
3.1 Monthly memberships are charged by reoccurring card payments on the 1st of each month.
- New members may be required to pay a pro rata fee in addition to their first month’s membership to align with billing cycles.
- All payments are non-refundable, including in cases of non-attendance or early cancellation.
- Failed payments will be attempted to be recollected over a 3 day period making it 4 attempts in total to take payment. After the first failed payment members will not be able to use their membership until a successful payment has been made.
3.2 Cancellations
Members may cancel their membership by providing 30 days’ written
notice via email to enquiries@kawacademy.co.uk.
Cancellations received with less than 30 days’ notice will still incur one additional payment cycle.
3.3 Suspension or Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate memberships for breaches of these Terms, misconduct, or non-payment.
4. Classes and Private Instruction
- Class timetables and instructors are subject to change without prior notice.
- We may occasionally close the facility for maintenance, events, or holidays, notice will be provided where possible.
- Private instruction must be booked and paid in advance and are subject to trainer availability.
5. Youth Programs and Age Restrictions
- The minimum age for membership or participation is 4 years old.
- Members under 16 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- Parents or guardians remain responsible for the supervision, conduct, and safety of minors while on the premises unless under direct supervision during class.
6. Kickboxing Grading
6.1 Eligibility for Grading
- Students must hold an active membership with the Academy and be in good financial standing.
- A minimum level of attendance and training consistency is required, as determined by the head coach.
- Gradings are by invitation or instructor approval only, being eligible to apply does not guarantee acceptance.
- Students must demonstrate the required technical ability, discipline, attitude, and fitness for their current belt level.
6.2 Grading Fees
- A grading fee applies to each assessment and must be paid in full before the grading date.
- Fees are non-refundable except where the Academy cancels or postpones the grading.
- If a student cannot attend due to illness or emergency, the Academy may, at its discretion, transfer the fee to a future grading.
6.3 Grading Process
- Gradings are conducted by qualified instructors under BMABA recognised standards.
- Students will be assessed on technical skills, sparring ability (if applicable), fitness, and knowledge of terminology.
- The grading panel’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
- Successful students will receive an official certificate and belt corresponding to their new grade.
6.4 Re-Grading and Deferred Gradings
- Students who do not pass may be invited to re-grade at a later date after further training.
- In some cases, an instructor may defer a grading if a student is close to the required standard but needs additional practice.
6.5 Behaviour and Etiquette
- All students must show respect, discipline, and good conduct during gradings.
- Late arrivals may not be allowed to participate.
- Misconduct, disrespect, or unsafe behaviour can result in immediate disqualification from grading without refund.
6.6 Certificates and Belt Awards
- Certificates and belts remain property of K.A.W Academy of Boxing & Kickboxing LTD until all grading fees are paid.
- Replacement certificates or belts may incur an additional charge.
6.7 Health and Safety
- Students must ensure they are fit to participate and free from injuries that could affect performance.
- Any health conditions or injuries must be declared prior to grading.
- Protective equipment must be worn where required.
- The Academy accepts no responsibility for injuries sustained unless caused by negligence.
7. Health, Safety & Conduct
7.1 Member and Parent Responsibilities
- Members must ensure they are physically fit and medically able to participate in martial arts training.
- Any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries must be disclosed before participation.
- Members agree to follow all health and safety instructions, class rules, and instructor guidance at all times.
- Aggressive, abusive, or disrespectful behaviour towards staff, instructors, or other members will not be tolerated.
7.2 Liability Waiver
- Participation in boxing, kickboxing, and related training involves inherent risks.
- By signing up, members acknowledge and accept these risks and agree that K.A.W Academy of Boxing & Kickboxing LTD, its directors, instructors, and affiliates shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage sustained through participation, except in cases of negligence.
7.3 Insurance
The Academy maintains public liability and instructor insurance in accordance with BMABA affiliation standards.
8. Merchandise and Events
8.1 Merchandise
All merchandise sales (including gloves, uniforms, and equipment) are final unless faulty. Faulty items will be repaired, replaced, or refunded in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Items can be exchanged but only at point of collection.
8.2 Fight Nights and Events
Participants in fight nights or public events must meet eligibility, safety, and insurance requirements. Event participation is voluntary and subject to additional agreements or medical checks.
9. Facilities and Equipment
- Members must treat all equipment and facilities with respect.
- Any damage caused through negligence or misuse may result in charges or suspension.
- Bags, phones, and valuables are stored at the member’s own risk. The Academy is not responsible for lost or stolen property.
10. Uniform
10.1 Purpose
Academy uniform helps promote discipline, team identity and professionalism across all classes, events & competitions.
10.2 Uniform Requirement
- All students are encouraged to wear the official K.A.W Academy uniform during classes, gradings, and Academy approved events.
- Approved items include branded t-shirts, shorts, trousers, vests, hoodies, and belts, as designated for each programme or level.
10.3 Appearance and Condition
- Uniforms must be kept clean, tidy, and in good condition at all times.
- Members must wear appropriate protective gear (gloves, shin guards, gumshields, etc.) as required for their class.
10.4 Purchasing and Ownership
- Official uniforms and merchandise are available for purchase directly through the Academy website.
- Prices and stock availability are subject to change without notice.
- Items remain the property of the Academy until full payment has been received.
- Uniforms are non-refundable once worn or personalised, except where faulty in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10.5 Branding and Use
- The K.A.W Academy logo and branding may not be altered, copied, or reproduced without written permission.
- Branded uniforms may only be worn for official training, promotional appearances, or events sanctioned by the Academy.
10.6 Behaviour While Wearing the Uniform
- When wearing the K.A.W Academy uniform, members are representing the Academy and must maintain a high standard of conduct, respect, and sportsmanship.
- Any behaviour deemed inappropriate or damaging to the Academy’s reputation (in person or online) may result in suspension or termination of membership. Refunds will not be given if the Academy terminates your membership based on these grounds.
10.7 Lost or Damaged Uniforms
The Academy is not responsible for uniforms that are lost, stolen, or damaged while on or off the premises. Members are advised to label items clearly.
11. Website and App Use
- By using our website or mobile app, you agree to comply with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
- Content on our website and app is for informational purposes only and may not be reproduced without permission.
- We are not responsible for third-party links, content, or software accessed through our online platforms.
12. Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
